Aluminum Toxicity in Sweet Cherry Trees Grown in an Acidic Volcanic Soil

چکیده

Chile is the world’s largest exporter of sweet cherries. New plantings have been shifted to southern regions, where aluminum (Al) phytotoxicity could be a serious constraint on establishing orchards in acidic volcanic soils. This study investigated effects soil Al growth and macronutrient uptake non-bearing ‘Bing’ Gisela®6 trees grown 120 L pots containing with four concentrations exchangeable (0.12, 0.40, 0.60, 1.24 cmol kg−1). At end first second seasons after planting, were destructively harvested, individual organs analyzed for dry weight, concentration, concentration. Increasing had detrimental effect nutrient growth, particularly season. However, fine-root was significantly reduced from season low concentrations. In cherry trees, preferentially accumulated root tissues its translocation aerial restricted. addition, accumulation fine roots, conjunction reduction severely restricted N, P, K, Mg, and, particularly, Ca. Therefore, acidity must corrected ensure successful establishment Chile.

Behavior of Some Sweet Cherry Cultivars on Mazzard Rootstock on Heavy and Acidic Soil

Over 60% Serbian soils are heavy, shallow and acidic, especially in west part of this country. Basically, Serbian fruit production is mainly represented in these conditions which are not favorable for intensive fruit growing. However, repair of these soils is a long and very expensive process. Regarding to this, one of the real ways to overcome this problem faster and cheaper is to grow toleran...

Fertigation of Deciduous Fruit Trees: Apple and Sweet Cherry

Nutrient uptake by trees is determined by root interception, soil availability, and tree demand. Fruit trees have low rooting density, especially in the case of dwarfing rootstocks. Mobility in the soil is a key factor in determining nutrient availability, and good management of nutrients requires that supply is matched to demand, in terms of amount, timing and retention in the root-zone, and t...

Translocation of nitrogen in the xylem of field-grown cherry and poplar trees during remobilization.

Studies of small trees growing in pots have established that individual amino acids or amides are translocated in the xylem sap of a range of tree species following bud burst, as a consequence of nitrogen (N) remobilization from storage. This paper reports the first study of N translocation in the xylem of large, deciduous, field-grown trees during N remobilization in the spring. We applied 15N...
